-
Will I bruise and swell from dermal filler?Bruising and swelling are a common side effects of any dermal filler treatments. We’ll provide you with detailed aftercare advice to help minimise any bruising and swelling that may occur. Bruising typically fades within 1–2 weeks, but if you have any concerns during your recovery, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
-
When is it best to get dermal fillers if I’m going on holiday?I always recommend scheduling your dermal filler treatment at least 2–3 weeks before any holiday or major event. This allows the fillers time to fully settle for optimal results. Booking too close to your holiday can impact the final outcome, as factors like air travel and exposure to sun in warmer climates may affect your treatment.
-
How long does botulinum toxin take to work?Botox doesn’t provide immediate results, but you won’t have to wait long to see the effects. You’ll start noticing changes around days 5–8, with full results appearing two weeks after your initial treatment. If you still notice slight movement at two weeks, don’t worry we always bring you in for a review appointment to make any necessary adjustments, ensuring you achieve the best possible results.
-
How long does botulinum toxin last? Most individuals enjoy the effects of Botox for approximately 3–4 months. However, the duration can vary based on personal factors, such as frequent intense exercise or the use of tanning beds, which may shorten its longevity.
-
Does botulinum toxin hurt? Most clients report little to no discomfort during anti-wrinkle injections. However, if you’re feeling nervous, there’s no need to worry we can apply our medical-grade topical numbing cream to make your treatment even more comfortable this is our priority!
-
What is the difference between botulinum toxin and dermal fillers?Botox works by relaxing muscles to reduce wrinkles caused by facial expressions, like frown lines and crow’s feet. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, add volume to areas like the lips, cheeks, and nasolabial folds, enhancing your natural features.
-
Can men have aesthetic treatments?Absolutely! Our treatments are suitable for all genders. We offer tailored solutions for men, focusing on natural enhancements and anti-aging results.
-
What should I do to prepare for my appointment? To ensure the best results, I recommend all of my clients follow these preparation guidelines: Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications (like aspirin or ibuprofen) for 24–48 hours before your treatment to minimise the risk of bruising. Stay hydrated and eat a light meal beforehand to avoid feeling faint. If you’ve had any recent skin treatments (e.g., chemical peels, laser therapy), let us know during booking, as these may affect your eligibility for certain treatments. If you’re unsure about anything, don’t hesitate to contact us prior to your appointment.
-
Are there any medical conditions or medications that could prevent me from having treatment?Yes, some medical conditions and medications may make you unsuitable for certain treatments. Conditions: If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, have active skin infections, or suffer from certain neurological or autoimmune disorders, you may not be eligible. Medications: Blood thinners, certain antibiotics, or medications affecting your immune system may require additional precautions or mean treatment isn’t advisable. We will discuss your medical history during your consultation to ensure your safety and determine the best treatment plan for you.
-
Can I have treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding? For your safety and the wellbeing of your baby, we do not offer Botox, dermal fillers, or other aesthetic treatments during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. While these treatments are generally safe, there is limited research on their effects during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so we take a cautious approach.
-
What happens during a consultation?During your consultation, we’ll take the time to understand your needs and goals. Here’s what you can expect: Assessment: We’ll review your medical history and discuss any medications or conditions that may impact treatment. Discussion: You’ll have the opportunity to share your concerns and goals, and we’ll recommend the most suitable treatments. Consultations are designed to ensure you feel informed and confident before proceeding with treatment.

What should I avoid after treatment? To ensure the best results and minimise side effects, avoid the following after your treatment: Touching or massaging the treated area: Refrain from rubbing or applying pressure for at least 24 hours. Intense exercise: Avoid heavy workouts for 24–48 hours, as increased blood flow can affect the results. Heat exposure: Stay away from saunas, hot tubs, or tanning beds for at least 48 hours. Alcohol: Avoid alcohol for 24 hours, as it can increase the risk of bruising. Makeup: Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for 24 hours to reduce the risk of irritation or infection. We’ll provide you with aftercare instructions tailored to your treatment.
-
How long does it take to recover from my treatment?Botox: Recovery is quick, and you can resume most daily activities immediately. Mild redness or swelling at the injection site typically resolves within a few hours. Full results appear within 5–14 days. Dermal fillers: Most clients experience some mild swelling or bruising, which subsides within 1–2 weeks. You can resume normal activities after 24 hours, but allow 2–3 weeks for the filler to fully settle.
-
Can I exercise or wear makeup after treatment?Exercise: Avoid strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours after Botox or fillers to reduce the risk of swelling or displacement. Light activity, like walking, is fine. Makeup: Refrain from applying makeup to the treated area for at least 24 hours. If you must wear makeup, use clean brushes and gentle products to avoid irritation or infection.
-
Do you offer follow-up appointments?Yes, we include follow-up appointments as part of our service for Botox and fillers. These are typically scheduled 2 weeks after treatment to review your results and make any necessary adjustments. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we’re here to ensure you’re happy with the outcome.
